| From the minute you arrive at Motel Inverness, you will know it's not your daddy's motel. Sure, we are a motel in the classic sense. All room lined up in a row. Parking lot adjacent to the rooms. And you will usually be parked pretty darn to your door, alleviating the need to walk through a lobby every time you come and go. But beyond that, we are more like a lodge than a motel. In fact, our Lodge is one of our main attractions. Ah, but the Lodge is lovely, in and of itself. Gather round the massive fireplace, created with Yosemite slate. Unwind with a game of pool on our championship table. Or simply relax in a rocker facing the bay. |

Around the Motel. Go out our back door to, kick up your feet on the deck and enjoy the expansive view of the salt marsh and the rolling hills of the coastal range. Outside or in, remember to keep your binoculars handy, as you never know when our resident California quail family may waddle by, or a colorful acorn woodpecker may sneak an easy meal from our bird feeder. Observe the majestic blue heron push a great egret around the marsh or watch a dive-bombing hummingbird, the smallest yet fiercest bird of them all vigorously guard its sugar water. All the while keen-eyed raptors soar overhead searching for their next meal. The epic saga taking place in Motel Inverness' very own back yard never fails to entertain. |

Point Reyes National Seashore. In addition to our lovely spot, let's not forget about the park. Point Reyes National Seashore in our humble opinion, is one of the most beautiful areas of Northern California featuring dramatic beaches, sweeping views, rolling hills and lush forests. It didn't take Shannon, your Innkeeper, very long before she bought herself her first "good" camera and went out to explore these natural splendors. Enjoy!. |
