General Information & Policies

Check-in is 4 pm.
If you need to make special arrangements for a later arrival please let us know.
Occasionally we can accommodate an early check-in. Please call or email to confirm.

Check-out is 11 am.
Please be prompt so your room can be prepared for the next guest.

Minimum Night Stay. We currently have a 2-night minimum on all weekend stays. Single night stays are the exception. There is also a 2-night minimum during the high season for all nights of the week.

Maximum Occupancy for all rooms is 2 guests of any age, except for Hummingbird Suite which accommodates 4 guests.

Non-smoking Property. Smoking is not permitted on the Motel Inverness property. There is a $350 fee for smoking near or in a guest room.

Bicycles: For those bringing their bicycles, we ask that you do not store them in the rooms with you, as to not track dirt and mud into the room. Accommodations can be made to store them on the side of the property, please inquire at the front desk. An additional fee of $150.00 will be charged to the CC on file for any additional cleaning needed if a bicycle is brought inside the rooms tracking dirt and mud.

Children: Motel Inverness is best suited for adults and very well behaved children over the age of 12.

We have a Gas Grill available for our guests. Please ask for instructions at the front desk prior to using.

Visitors: Given our intimate and peaceful setting, we only allow registered guests on property. If you would like to have friends or family members visit, please notify the front desk. Thank you!

Cancellation Policy

We’re a small, seven-room inn, so cancellations affect us greatly. Please review the following carefully:

  • Free Cancellation: You may cancel within 24 hours of booking (as long as it’s more than 7 days before your arrival) without penalty.
  • Standard Cancellations: All other cancellations incur a $35 fee.
  • Within 7 Days of Arrival: Your reservation is non-refundable, and you’ll be charged for the full stay. If we rebook your room, we issue a refund based on the number of nights rebooked.
  • Holidays & Special Events: Require 14 days’ notice to cancel. We may contact you with additional requirements or deposit details.
  • Multiple Room Bookings: Also require 14 days’ notice to cancel.
  • Payment: Your credit card will be charged the morning of your arrival.

Pet Policies

At this time, we are only allowing service animals. We apologize for any inconvenience.

You will be asked to sign an agreement that includes the following pet policies:

  • Your dog may not be left alone in guest rooms.
  • Please keep your dog on a leash in public areas and throughout the property, including the wetlands.
  • We will provide a sheet to cover the comforter should your dog sleep on the bed with you.
  • Your dog may join you on the outside deck, but not in the Motel Inverness Lodge.
  • We ask that your dog be clean, well groomed, and have current shots and flea & tick care.
  • An aggressive dog is not welcome, nor are young pups. A dog must be good around other people and like other dogs.
  •  Owner will be responsible for any damages, injury or lost revenue, that may be caused by their dog.
  • Owners must agree to be responsible for any and all damage done by their dog.
  • The dog owners credit card on file will be charged for any and all damage done by their dog.
